Our Crestwood Team

  • Dan Hermann Owner

Background: After spending twenty years in the IT industry and one year in a global pandemic, I decided that I would rather spend my days surrounded by dogs, thank you very much. Bringing leadership, operations, customer service, and a little tech savvy, I am a first-time entrepreneur and am looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to manage a team, serve the community, and help pet parents overcome the anxiety that comes when they are away from their pets.

Family Life: I love spending time with my family: three humans, two dogs, and two cats. I learned to cook (and even bake a little) during COVID and love to try new recipes from all over the world. The list of movies, shows, music, books, and games that I need to consume is shamefully long, but I’m always interested in something new. My life goal is to visit six of the seven continents with my children before they turn eighteen (we’re at four!).

Fun Fact: I went to law school, graduated, and passed the Bar Exam in two states, but never practiced law. If you are interested in a legal career, you should definitely not ask me if I recommend a legal career.

What I Love About CBW: Camp Bow Wow sold me on the very first page of their franchise owner materials: “Nobody wants to leave their dog in a crate when they’re at work, and nobody wants to leave their dog in a cage when they’re on vacation.” This is my language and I am so excited to serve customers with whom this resonates.

  • Brittany Huxen General Manager

Background: After college graduation, I started with the number one Petsmart in the country in Denver Colorado as a PetsHotel Assistant manager, I was lucky there to be mentored and brought into the industry the right way. I later moved to Texas to run my own PetsHotel and turned around an underperforming location. I have run facilities for National Veterinary Associates, Dogtopia, and Pet Supplies Plus. I am a servant leader and transformational leader at heart and will be the first to jump in and help when needed. I enjoy fostering cultures of leadership development and helping others pad their resumes with skills and tools they can take with them wherever they go.

Family Life: I share my home with 3 humans. I also share my home with 3 dogs a 12-year-old Border Collie, Timbre, a 5-year-old Dutch Shepherd, Tora, and a 3-year-old Chihuahua, Virgil, and two cats an Orange Tabby named Thomas, and a Siamese named Ditto.

Fun Fact: In my free time I am an Abstract Expressionist Painter and am constantly reading, and listening to anything from Florence and the Machine to Fleetwood Mac.

What I Love About Camp Bow Wow: Camp Bow Wow is an industry leader with a long track record of being on the leading edge of innovation within the industry and putting pet safety and wellness first.

  • Evey Danzo Lead Dog Trainer

"Growing up in a home filled with dogs, birds, lizards, and gerbils, I developed a deep affinity for working with animals. After earning my degree in psychology, I realized that many psychological principles could be beneficial in working with both pets and their owners. In 2013, I decided to pursue my passion by attending dog training school with my black lab, River. With this foundational experience, I further expanded my knowledge of the dog world by working at the Humane Society, veterinary clinics, kennels, and pet supply stores.

Over the past 13 years, I have dedicated my free time to training both my rescue and purebred dogs. My current dogs, Simon and River, have mastered several of my favorite tricks, including jumping rope, riding a skateboard, dock diving, and retrieving items."

Q: What's the most rewarding part of working with dogs?

A: Watching dogs and their families create unbreakable bonds!

Q: What's the funniest thing a dog has done during training?

A: My lab brought me a mop once instead of a retrieve toy.

Q:  What's the most important thing you've learned from training dogs?

    A: Patience!
